Detailed Description

You will learn how to approach research results as a student, who owns research results and intellectual property, and what to look out for, for example when publishing your results or working with partners from companies and research institutions.

You will learn how knowledge and technology transfer support works at Charles University, what types of intellectual property exist and how to protect it in the Czech Republic and abroad. Particular attention will be paid to patent protection and patent strategy.

You will learn about the options for commercialising research results, including licensing, establishing a spin-off, transferring intellectual property rights, collaborative research and other opportunities. The lecture will also include examples of successful commercialisation of research outputs at Charles University.

The aim of the programme is to raise awareness of the proper management of research outputs, industrial and intellectual property protection, and opportunities for commercialisation.
