As part of the university-wide ESF+ project, we have launched a mentoring programme to support entrepreneurial students at Charles University. It is one of the activities of the Charles University Centre for Knowledge and Technology Transfer (CPPT).
Created by the CPPT team, the supportive mentoring programme aims to provide a space in which students can develop their projects for real-world application.
The outcome of the programme will be the development and testing of a mentoring system methodology to support the professional guidance of talented students at Charles University.
The mentoring project, which was launched in January 2025, will run for three consecutive semesters. Three experts from the field — whether from the Czech startup scene, corporations, or businesses — will provide individual mentoring support to three selected students. The experts are interested in collaborating on submitted student proposals with the aim of developing entrepreneurship among young talent.
The experts will provide feedback to the students, linking it to their practical experience and offering professional mentoring guidance. This could include help with formulating the project vision, setting goals, planning next steps or identifying obstacles.

This term of our mentoring programme will run from October 2025 to February 2026. Each month, you will meet with your mentor, who will help you take your project to the next level. You will also have the opportunity to participate in meet-ups and other events.

Key factors for acceptance to the programme include the viability of your project or existing project plan, and meeting the prerequisites for mentoring support. These include having an interest in developing entrepreneurial skills and being motivated to implement socially beneficial plans.
Mentors are experienced professionals from the business or management world who provide students with personalised guidance and support to help them develop independently. They share their expertise, helping students to develop key competencies and learn to take the initiative and drive things forward.
Jana is the founder of the reKáva project. The idea for a company focused on collecting and reusing coffee grounds originated in the Czech Republic in 2019. Having herself undergone incubation at PointOne at the Czech University of Life Sciences, she is now a valuable supporter of new projects thanks to her knowledge and experience in business.
Ivana works at the Center for Cyber Security at the Czech Technical University in Prague and at the Point One incubator at the Czech University of Life Sciences. She has over six years' experience mentoring start-ups in business strategy and marketing. She is an expert in online marketing and has led projects focused on SEO, PPC and digital communication for clients across various industries.
Aleš has almost thirty years' experience working as a manager in large automotive companies. A former member of the board of directors at Shell Czech Republic and Louda Auto, he has experience in management, sales and marketing in Central and Eastern Europe. He now focuses on mentoring and leading people and projects with potential.
