The Sigma-DC1 programme, run by the Czech Technology Agency, focuses on supporting the commercialisation system and promoting the use and evaluation of R&D results for societal needs that have been or are being developed in research organisations and have high potential for application in new or improved products or services.
This programme builds on the GAMA and GAMA 2 programmes, through which Charles University has already supported a total of 47 projects.
The university strives to support high-quality projects that produce results suitable for potential commercial use or to meet the needs of society.
CPPT is responsible for the overall coordination and administration of the project.
Funding for individual projects is awarded by the Rector of Charles University based on recommendations from the Charles University Commercialisation Council. The faculties in which the participating departments are located are directly responsible for implementing specific sub-projects.
Continue to develop and improve the university's established innovation ecosystem, including the commercialization and proof-of-concept (PoC) support system.
Search for a larger number of R&D results with commercialization potential and focus on their quality.
Make maximum use of the subsidiary CU Charles University Innovations Prague, s.r.o. to transfer knowledge into practice and further develop this cooperation with the private sector.
