Detailed Description

You will learn how to approach research results as a researcher, who owns research results and intellectual property, and what to consider, for example, when publishing your results or working with partners from companies and research institutions.

You will learn how knowledge and technology transfer support works at Charles University, how inventors are rewarded, how to ensure protection of intellectual property involving students, what types of intellectual property exist, and how to protect them in the Czech Republic and abroad. Particular attention will be paid to patent protection and patent strategy.

You will explore the options for commercializing research results (licensing, establishing a spin-off, transferring intellectual property rights, collaborative research, etc.) and learn about examples of successful commercialization of research outputs at Charles University.
