Since June 2025, the university has been part of the Prague.bio platform and initiative, which connects research institutions, start-ups and industrial partners with the aim of developing the biotechnology sector in the Czech Republic. CPPT UK will coordinate this initiative on behalf of the university.
Prague.bio unites key figures in biotechnology and the natural sciences, encouraging collaboration, innovation, and the application of knowledge. Charles University's membership builds on its long-term activities in this area, particularly through the BIOCEV centre, which the university co-founded, and which provides state-of-the-art facilities for scientific research and collaboration with industry.
Alongside the other members of Prague.bio, Charles University aims to strengthen the biotechnology ecosystem in Prague and across the Czech Republic, opening new opportunities to connect science, innovation, and business.
