Eugen Kvašňák is a person with a wide range of interests. As a physicist, he teaches medical physics and informatics at the 3rd Medical Faculty of the Charles University in Prague. As an academic technology optimist, he has been working since 2005 as a technology transfer specialist, lecturer and education manager at the Charles University and is also one of the founders of the course "Management of Science and Innovation" provided by the Centre for Knowledge and Technology Transfer (CPPT). He has also been involved in various transnational education innovation projects, such as the "CENTROPE TT Academy" or "Excellence in Research, Management of Social and Technological Innovation", etc. As a researcher, he has been conducting research in neurosciences for 25 years; most recently on the use of electrical stimulation improving cognitive functions. As a practical, market-oriented man, he is a co-founder of two technology companies.
Lenka Dvořáková is a public speaker, coach and trainer and founder of the online platform, publicspeaking.cz, where she helps non-native speakers develop the skills necessary to deliver presentations in English - and even enjoy it! During the years she spent in diplomacy, working as an EU negotiator in the UN, and in a top managerial position in academia, she realized how important communication skills are - for success both in one’s business and private life. Then she set herself a new mission - to prove that anyone can learn how to communicate and present successfully. She coaches and trains both individuals and groups and among her clients are start-ups as well as corporations or public organizations, such as PENTA, Microsoft, Kiwi.com, Fusion for Energy and the Charles University. She has won multiple awards in public speaking contests; most recently she finished runner-up and best non-native speaker in the Czechoslovak championship in public speaking in English.
Eliška Koňaříková is currently involved in the evaluation of science at Charles University Rectorate. She holds courses on the Methodology 2017 to Czech public university representatives. She also works as a senior researcher at the Institute of Physiology CAS. She graduated from Cell Biology at the Faculty of Sciences at Charles University, and from Economics and Management at the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague with a diploma thesis, “The Personnel and Social Development Management in Research Institutions“. Later on, she studied her doctorate at the Institute of Human Genetics at Helmhotz Zentrum in Munich, DE with a focus on human inherited mitochondrial diseases. When she isn’t working, Eliška participates in dissemination events for the general public, and manages her own educational Facebook page “We Love Mitochondria“.
Hana Kosová is the Director of the Centre for Knowledge and Technology Transfer (CPPT). She has been working with the Charles University since 2011, starting as an independent business consultant for pre-seed and proof-of-concept projects and later on building the University Innovation Network. She helped to shape the professional Czech national association Transfera.cz and, for 2015 – 2018, acted as its Vice-President, where she remains on its board. Since 2019, she has become a board member of the international knowledge and technology transfer professionals´ association ASTP. She was one of the team initiating and eventually, in 2018, establishing a subsidiary company Charles University Innovations Prague, LLC for which she has been appointed the company's Supervisory Board Member. Previously, she has held various positions related to project and strategic management. Currently, she focuses on strengthening the University Innovative Network and one of CPPT’s core projects Kampus Hybernská.
Matěj Machů is Czech Patent Attorney and European Design Attorney who also works as a Lecturer and Intellectual Property Consultant at Charles University as well as Charles University Innovations Prague while also teaching at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics. His academic and scientific work is focused mainly on foreign legal systems, particularly the Anglo-American and Israeli law. In matters of technical specialization he focuses primarily on mechanics, physics and computer technology.
Otomar Sláma graduated in Public Policy in Research, Development, and Innovation, as well as International Relations and European Studies and has also an MBA in Entrepreneurship. For the past several years, he has been lecturing on starting a business, the creation of business plans, and establishing spin-off companies. He has also gained experience in the private sector where he founded and managed several companies. He was the Deputy Director of the Centre for Knowledge and Technology Transfer of the Charles University where he was in charge of the final phases of the commercialisation process and currently works as the Director of Charles University Innovations Prague s.r.o., which is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Charles University. The goal of the company is to transfer knowledge and technology created at Charles University to real life. Otomar also represents Charles University in several supervisory boards of university spin-off companies, where he is a Chairman in two of them.
Ing. Jakub Šafránek has organised presentation skills workshops under the name Juicy Slides (Šťavnaté slajdy) for more than four years and more than 300 people have attended his courses. He has organised courses focused on presentations and time management for companies and organisations such as Foxconn Technology CZ, FOXCONN CZ, Vodafone Czech Republic, Ferring-Léčiva, the University of Hradec Králové, the University of Defence, O2 Czech Republic, Asco Joucomatic and Czech-us. In his presentation skills and time management courses, he applies know-how gained from abroad, in the year 2014, he attended the workshop VisualStory by Duarte, Inc. (Silicon Valley). Duarte, Inc. is considered as the best presentation studio in the world. In the year 2015, he finished his university studies at the University of Economics in Prague majoring in Information Systems and Technology with a minor in Managerial Psychology and Sociology. He guarantees and lectures the module Team and Time Management in the course Management of Science and Innovation at the Charles University in Prague. Ondřej Vaněk received his PhD. degree in biochemistry at the Faculty of Science, Charles University in 2010, and has been involved in both teaching and research since then. Apart from leading classes and practical courses on molecular biology and biochemistry, he is also organizing a Knowledge and Technology Transfer Course at the Faculty of Science. In his research, he is interested in the relationship between the structure and function of various immune cell receptors involved in recognition of tumor cells, and how to boost this recognition to improve our health. He is leading his own independent research group. He has been a principal investigator and co-investigator of four Czech Science Foundation projects, and project leader of six Charles University Grant Agency projects. He has won the Instruct Research and Development Pilot Project Award. He participated on several national and international projects (e.g., SPINE2:Complexes, EC 6FP project, coordinator prof. David Stuart, Oxford University). He is also a member of three COST Action international projects and two related national projects from Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic, for which he has also served as an evaluator of project proposals in several grant competitions.
